Viveta Gene, The Inspirator

Viveta Gene is a Translation & Localization Industry Specialist and Machine Translation Post-Editing Expert with more than 20 years of experience as a linguist and vendor manager. She recently decided to combine her expertise and know-how to become a Language Solutions Specialist. Viveta holds an MA in Translation and New Technologies from the Department of Foreign Languages and Interpreting at the Ionian University. She is also a PhD researcher working on the creation of an MTPE Training Model. Her main focus is promoting new trends in the industry where translation skills meet MT technology. MT tools and post-editing techniques are among her key fields of interest. Viveta is the founder of the GALA MTPE Training SIG, which aims to create a common Post-Editing Training Protocol for academia, LSPs, clients, and universities.

Lucía Guerrero, The Facilitator

Lucía Guerrero is a Machine Translation and Post-Editing Specialist with degrees in Translation and Interpreting, and Humanities. She has worked in the translation industry since 1998, serving as a Senior Translation and Localization Project Manager for international institutions, managing localization projects for Apple Computer, and translating children's and art books. Her passion for computational linguistics led to a new career path as a Machine Translation Manager. Her current responsibilities include training and evaluating MT systems, designing custom workflows, and creating support materials for post-editors. Lucía has spoken at international conferences on language and technology, such as AMTA and Asling, focusing on the post-editor's role and the importance of qualitative feedback in raw MT output evaluation. She is the co-founder of the GALA MTPE Training SIG.
